Pastor Paul A. Southerland
Rev. Paul A. Southerland has served the Christian community for more than 50 years as an educator, social activist, and a clergyman. As a student of Wayne State University in the 60's, Pastor Southerland witnessed first hand the struggle of African Americans during the civil rights movement. As a member of the group of students that took over Wayne State University in protest of social injustice, he gained insight to the challenges of a people trying to let their voice be heard when society demanded that their voice be silenced.
Rev. Southerland completed his undergraduate work at Wayne State and went on to his Master's Studies at the University of Chicago Divinity School.
Pastor Southerland greatest work has been as a called and anointed man of the God. Beginning his pastorship in New York, Pastor Southerland moved back to Chicago to take the helm of the work at Redeeming Church of Christ, where he has been Pastor for over 23 years. Being a lover of education, Rev. Southerland's vision has always included the education of children and adults alike. He has expanded the scope of work for Redeeming to include Spiritual education for adults, as well as the Hazel Young Academy and Childcare which provides childcare up to 8th grade education to almost 140 children here in Northwest Indiana.
Pastor Southerland is well respected in the community as a man of dignity and integrity. Among his congregation, he is respected as a Pastor, Apostle, counselor, teacher and loving spiritual father. He is also the founder and CEO of PASEnterprise.TV.
